Call for Abstracts

The Organising Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the 1st International Conference of the German Society of Nursing Science, 4-5 May 2018, Berlin, Germany.

Extended Abstract Submission Deadline:

15 November 2017, CET 23.59h

In order to standardise the abstract layout, we kindly ask you to read the guidelines carefully.

 

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS
  1. Abstracts may only be submitted via the conference homepage.  Abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be accepted.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please use UK English spelling.
  3. The presenter of an accepted abstract must register and attend the congress.
  4. Poster presenters must be present and stand by their posters during their assigned poster sessions.
  5. Provide a short specific title indicating the nature of the investigation or paper.
  6. The title may not exceed 15 words. The abstract text may not be longer than 250 words, excluding disclosures.
  7. Abstracts for individual presentations, individual symposia and posters should be structured as follows:
  • Background and Purpose
  • Model / Framework (if used)
  • Methods
  • Research Focus: Describe design, sample, setting, procedures, measures, and analyses
  • Methodological and theoretical focus: Describe approach to address issue and strategies used.
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  1. All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text (but, do not define in the title).
  2. Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included.
  3. Authors should indicate their presentation type preference:
    • Oral presentation (15 mins)
    • Symposium (90 mins) find the guidelines below
    • Posters

The Scientific Programme Committee reserves the right to decide on the final allocation and presentation method.

  1. A selected number of abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation based on their scientific merits and on their relation to the topics addressed in the scientific programme of the Congress. We therefore encourage submissions on the main topics covered in the scientific programme.
  2. Disclosure of potential conflict of interest (e.g. grant support, consultancy, membership on advisory councils) by all authors and source of funding are mandatory. Each listed author should prepare a one sentence statement to this effect. (All disclosures should be listed if relevant to the abstract content and all others within the last year.)
  3. Please make sure to state your correct e-mail After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation by e-mail please contact abstracts[at]congrex.com.
  4. Should you wish to make corrections to an abstract already submitted please contact abstracts[at]congrex.com. If you wish to submit other abstracts later, you may use your personal access code.

Submitting an abstract and corrections to abstracts can only be made up to the deadline of 8th November 2017, CET 23.59.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION A SYMPOSIUM
  1. Abstracts may only be submitted via the conference homepage.  Abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be accepted.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please use UK English spelling.
  3. All presenter of an accepted symposium must register and attend the congress.
  4. Provide a short specific title indicating the nature of discussed content.
  5. The title may not exceed 15 words. The abstract text may not be longer than 500 words, excluding disclosures.
  6. Abstracts for symposia should be structured as follows:
    • Background and Purpose
    • Model / Framework (if used)
    • Methods
    • Research Focus: Describe design, sample, setting, procedures, measures, and analyses
    • Methodological and theoretical focus: Describe approach to address issue and strategies used.
    • Results
    • Conclusions
  7. All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text (but, do not define in the title).
  8. Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included.
  9. Authors should indicate the presentation type as symposium.
  10. Symposium should be clearly different from an oral presentation session, in that they should have an integrative nature. This should apply to the topic of the symposium.
  11. The duration of each symposium is 90 minutes for the symposium.
  12. Each symposium can comprise up to 3-5 individual presentations.
  13. The symposium abstract has to include a programme overview and information about all single contributions (eg.: title of the presentations).
  14. Chairs will be notified about the selection results. Please make sure to state your correct e-mail address. The chairs are responsible to liaise with their speakers and remind them that they should have travel plans that allow them to arrive on time.
  15. Chairs are kindly requested to inform the speakers that no financial support is provided by the conference organisation to symposium participants, and that congress registration fee is not waived.
  16. The chair and all contributors have to be named during submission.

Abstract topics

Authors are requested to select a topic under which they wish their abstract to be reviewed:

  1. Patient care: Clinical care/ Nursing Intervention
  2. Patient care: Patient perspective
  3. Nursing facilities and structures
  4. Methodological issues

 

Notification

Each abstract will be reviewed by 2 experts according to the relevance, originality, clarity and scientific quality of the submitted abstract. Final selection will be made by the Scientific Programme Committee. Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts will be sent to the corresponding authors via email in December 2017. Full instructions concerning preparation and presentation will be included.

Best Poster Prizes

Prize will be awarded to the best poster presentation.

Award-winning poster authors will give a short presentation in the Closing Session.
