2nd International Conference of the German Society of Nursing Science
MAY 8TH – 9TH, 2020 IN BERLIN
Provision of high quality and person-centred nursing and health care is one of the major challenges faced by societies worldwide. Especially in Western countries, demographic change threatens adequate provision of care. Apart from an increasingly aging population, lack of healthcare and nursing staff is also related to demographic change as the number of nurses who will retire or leave the profession will outnumber the number of newly qualified nurses.
In Germany, nursing care has recently become a major topic on the national political agenda especially focussing on quality of care and recruitment and retention of nurses. It has become obvious that evidence-based practice and the development of specific roles for (advanced) nurses are important issues that need to be addressed.
Different suggestions have been made in order to achieve high quality care. Therefore, the 2nd International Conference of the German Society of Nursing Science aims to offer a platform for scientific discussion and debate on some of these issues. We want to show if and how nursing research could contribute to the development and implementation of high quality care despite often challenging context factors. Last but not least the conference aims to promote the discussion of methodological issues e.g. with regard to complex interventions.
We are inviting you to contribute with a platform or poster presentation, a symposium, or a workshop addressing one or more of the following topics:
- Nursing care
- Fundamentals of nursing care
- Advanced nursing roles
- Nursing interventions
- Implementation research
- Patient perspective
- Nursing facilities and structures
- Rationing nursing care
- Methodological issues of nursing research
There will be four keynote presentations from renowned international nursing researchers:
Linda Aiken (USA)
Peter Griffith, (UK)
Walter Sermeus (BE)
Dawn Stacey, (CAN)
We cordially welcome you to Berlin in May 2020!
On behalf of the Organising Committee
